What are the ingredients in Anne's Candles? All of my candles begin with a soy flake base. Coconut and aproicot oils are added. The fragrances we use are a blend of essential oils that are Phthalate free.
-
Are your Soy candles all natural? All candles that are made of soy require a chemical process that converts the soy into a wax usable for lighting and using in candles. Because of that, I cannot with good conscience say that our candles are all natural. We do adhere to higher standards by choosing the purest ingredients possible. They are Phthalate-free.

What is Soy wax and how is it made?Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated.
-
Is Soy wax good for my skin?Soy wax is a natural moisturizer. Soy candles burn at 102 degrees, slightly higher than normal body temperature. This allows you to use the melted wax as cuticle oil for hands and feet, to soften dry spots like elbows and knees and lastly as a massage oil. (Have fun!) A note of caution: Use only Soy candles that have been formulated for massage and made to be skin safe. While Soy is a natural moisturizer, many candles have additives that are not made for use on the skin. Also, use Soy candles on outer dermis of skin only.

What precautions should I take when using Soy candles?Use only specialty candles formulated for the skin when using a candle for massage. While Soy is a natural moisturizer, many candles have additives that are not made for use on the skin. Massage oil or Soy body candles melt into a warm oil when lit that generally burns at a low temperature and are formulated to be safely rubbed on the epidermis or outermost layers or outer dermis of skin only! Skin and other allergies should always be taken into consideration when using any massage oil candle. Never just pour Soy candle oil on anyone without first asking if they are allergic to the ingredients.
